In Dubai, E11 is known as “Sheikh Zayed Road”. 347 miles(558.4 km) Sheikh Zayed Road is the longest road in the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Road stretches from the city of Abu Dhabi and ends in Ras Al Khaimah, running roughly parallel to UAE’s coastline along the Persian Gulf.

Dubai Creek (Arabic: Khor Dubai) is a saltwater creek located in Dubai. This historic focal point of life in Dubai, The Creek, a natural sea-water inlet which cuts through the centre of the city dividing city into two main sections – Deira and Bur Dubai. The eastern and western sections are linked via four bridges (Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge, Business Bay Crossing and Floating Bridge) and one tunnel (Al Shindagha Tunnel).

It was along the Bur Dubai creek area that members of the Bani Yas tribe first settled in the 19th century, establishing the Al Maktoum dynasty in the city.

Versace, the renowned fashion house, is to create the world’s first refrigerated beach so that hotel guests can walk comfortably across the sand on scorching days.

The beach will be next to the the new Palazzo Versace hotel which is being built in Dubai where summer temperatures average 40C and can reach 50C.

According to London-based property adviser Mohammed Kashani-Akhavan, the current cancellation of development projects is likely to reduce supply, thus resulting in existing properties increasing in value in the future.

Dubai-based Meraas Development, which has unveiled a $95bn (£63.8bn) property project since being formed just two months ago, is the latest construction firm to announce that it is now reconsidering its plans in light of the economic slump.

The design of these Metro Stations derived from the heritage of the city that reflects the historical and traditional legacy profile of Dubai in a style that matches its surroundings.

The Dh25 billion system’s radar is supplied by US defense company Raytheon. The advanced anti-missile system would be used to defend infrastructure and logistics in the UAE from any hostile action.

Retired General Khalid Abdullah Al Buainain, former commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense said deployment of the system, which could take three years, would defend the UAE against all missile attacks.

According to a technical expert, Sonjib Banerjee, technical director of Duval Messien, a French multinational specialized in Global Protection services, With more and more tall structures coming up in Dubai, the chances of a lightning strike is increasing.

Mr.Sonjib Banerjee said it is a myth that Dubai and the Gulf area are not vulnerable to lightning strikes. He referred to a lightning strike near Burj Dubai on November 26 and said it confirms the need for adequate lightning protection measures for all tall structures.
