Reel Cinemas, a spectacular new Megaplex at The Dubai Mall, with 22 screens and 2800 seats, opened on August 14, 2009 to the delight of movie fans. Ten screens currently in operation, with twelve to go online later this year. Developed by Reel Entertainment LLC, a joint venture of Emaar Retail and Singapore-based leading provider of entertainment Cathay Organization Holdings Ltd Reel Cinemas at The Dubai Mall, once completed, will house more screens than any other Cineplex in the UAE .

Despite a global slowdown in the travel business, hotels in Dubai registered a five percent increase in the number of people in the first half of 2009 to host 3.85 million numbers in comparison with the same period the previous year, said the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) yesterday.
