Rotana said he expects employment levels in the 481-room hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, not less than 80 percent, the newspaper reported.

The expectations of the hotel are far from current levels of hotel occupancy in the UAE, who have been affected by the global recession, less tourists visiting the resort from the Gulf.

Occupancy levels currently around 60 percent in the UAE, according to hospitality research company STR Global, with hotels in the city much more affected than the beach hotels.

The construction of the 333 meter high, 72-floor Rose Rayhan was completed in 2007, steeling the title of world’s tallest hotel to the iconic Burj Al Arab held for much of the last decade.
