The new water taxi service will become operational by mid next year, with more than one million passengers expected to be transported annually, according to a report in Gulf News.

The agreement to run the service signed by the Ajman Municipality and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the newspaper said.

“The project is part of the strategy for the city to improve its services, enhancing its partnerships with other entities and providing better services and facilities for the public, Mohammad Omar Al Muhairi, Director of Planning and Survey Department in Ajman Municipality, told the newspaper.

Two taxi stands will be built – the Ajman Corniche and the fish market – which are easily accessible to travelers, the newspaper reported.
