Ariel Lavi Interview: Exclusive Interview with Actor, Screenwriter and Producer

Q: Hi! Ariel Lavi, How are you. Thank you so much for making time for us from your busy schedule.
I am very well, Thank you. Yes, I am busy these days. Few projects are going on.

Q: So tell us where are you from?
I am from Israel.

Q: So tell us about your early professional education and how did you realize you want to be a filmmaker?
I was interested in acting since I was 15 years old. I studied acting at Lee Strasberg Film & Theater Institute for one year. I studied screenwriting at a few universities in the UK. I wanted to jump into the practical field and prove myself. I decided to change my life to create my own independent way. I have produced many films around the globe.

Q: How many films have you made?
I have made many films. . “Salads For Soulmates”, An American short film, I worked with Shira Hadad, Christie Shaw, Artie Shaw, and the Actor Patrick Murney. It was a great experience and we won 48 hours film festival in NYC and our film will represent NYC Filmapalooza international film festival in Washington. And if I talk about ”Metanoia” which is a sci-fi short film in English in Mexico with Jessica Decote, Laura Di Luca, and Carlos Hendrick Huber and Directed by Moran Avni. I really enjoyed these projects.

Q: Do you want to expand the production? Do you want to work in other regions?
I have opened a new production company in LA and I have a few films in pre-production in the US. I also want to expand in other regions to make a global production house.

Q: What is the most important quality of a producer?
I believe in doing my work diligently and I am always committed to my work. Same thing I want from my crew. Together we can make this whole thing enjoyable and classy. So I never compromise on quality, that’s what is needed to be the best quality I guess.

Q: What do you think is the best strategy to get your production on schedule?
Getting things done at right time is key. Keeping a film production on time is an onerous job. I do it by tracking the progress of my different teams regularly

Q: Are you working on any project these days? Are there any upcoming projects?
I have a few projects at hand. I have a few I wrote and will produce in Romania, Israel, and the US. I believe in hard work and you will see soon everything I am working on.

Q: Any actors you wish to work with?
I want to work with Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt.

Q: What message do you want to convey to people through your films?
I want to make them feel something and get inspired.
