In order to combat this issue, we’ve put together a list of the top mosques in Dubai that you need to add to your itinerary. Not only are these centers of religious significance, but they also boast architectural excellence. Discover the top mosques in Dubai below.

1. Al Salam Mosque

Al-Salam Mosque Dubai

First up is the Al Salam Mosque, which is renowned for its pyramid-shaped structure created via multiple domes. Due to this shape and the colors, including white, gold, and crimson, the mosque boasts a striking exterior appearance. From this, it’s clear that the building combines Ottoman and Emirati architecture, and one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Shahada, is even written on the mosque’s façade. While it’s a sight to behold in the daytime, the mosque is particularly spectacular during the night. This is because its gold and green lighting draws attention to every stunning detail of the structure.

2. The Great Mosque of Dubai

Grand Bur Dubai Masjid

Otherwise known as the Grand Bur Dubai Masjid, the Great Mosque of Dubai is among the most iconic places of worship in the UAE. With a capacity of 1200 worshippers and a minaret of 230 feet, this is the tallest mosque in the city. With a long history as a previous school dedicated to Qur’an studies, the mosque is an important location within the city. It was first attended by students in 1900, wherein the entire Qur’an was memorized. Following this, a new mosque was built in 1960, which was again rebuilt in 1998.

3. Al Farooq Omar ibn Al Khattab Mosque

As one of the first mosques to admit non-Muslims, Al Farooq Omar ibn Al Khattab Mosque is a particularly significant one. It provides visitors with the opportunity to pray, admire the building, and discover the Islamic culture, making it a multi-faceted center. Bridging the gap between Arab civilization and the rest of the globe, it’s safe to say that the mosque is an impressive place. This impressiveness comes in more ways than one, being very architecturally remarkable. In fact, it was inspired by the Blue Mosque in Istanbul and rises almost 100 feet from the ground to prove it. It’s one of the largest mosques in the UAE, with a capacity of 2000 worshippers.

4. Jumeirah Mosque

Jumeirah Mosque Dubai

The Jumeirah Mosque sits among the most visited in Dubai since it’s one of the mosques that non-Muslims are permitted to enter and even take pictures of. Its stone structure means that it stands out within the neighborhood’s center. In fact, the way in which the sun sets creates a magical charm. While the mosque is open to the public, you will be required to pay a small entry fee; that said, it’s very affordable. You might even embark on an English tour; these run from Saturday to Thursday at 10 am.

5. The Great White Mosque

Last but not least is the Great White Mosque, which is otherwise known as the great Sheikh Zayed Mosque. This has a reputation as the most beautiful religious monument in the entire country. Both critics and tourists deem the mosque as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Arab world. The aim of this mosque is to unite all Islamic traditions and cultures within a singular temple. Guided tours are available for a fee.
