Dubai has marked another World Record for the largest fireworks display ever on New Year 2014. The spectacular display of fireworks encircled 94km (58.4 miles) of Dubai coastline included The Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, Burj al Arab and off-course the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa. The 6 minutes fireworks was included 500,000 fireworks from 400 firing locations across the city.
Fireworks started with a flying falcon made out of fireworks lit up from The Palm Island and then moved across the island alongside a countdown. Main displays took place at Burj Khalifa and the Atlantis Hotel at the Palm Jumeirah Island.
The spectacular Dubai New Year 2014 fireworks display surpass the current world record had set by Kuwait last year on their national day in just 60 seconds. Kuwait had set world record with 77,000 fireworks display that lasted for more than one hour.
Guinness World Records officials confirm the Record with statement on their website. It stated: “Ten months in planning, over 500,000 fireworks were used during the display which lasted around six minutes, with Guinness World Records adjudicators on hand to confirm that a new record had been set.”
