Jumeirah: Dubai’s Most Expensive and Exclusive Area

Jumeirah also known as the Beverly Hills of Middle East is a coastal residential area of Dubai. The area is very popular with tourists and wealthy expats living in Dubai. Jumeirah has become one of the most expensive and exclusive part of Dubai with luxurious hotels like Burj al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah consisting three luxurious five star hotels and has more modest town houses built in a variety of architectural styles. Administratively it is divided into three neighborhoods named “Jumeirah 1,” Jumeirah 2″ and “Jumeirah 3.”

Other main tourists attractions are Jumeirah Mosque, Jumeriah Beach Park, Wild Wadi Water park, Mina A’Salam Hotel, Al Qasr Hotel and Dar Al Masyaf summer houses at Madinat Jumeirah and Madinat Souk etc.

Jumeirah is one of the most expensive areas in Dubai to live in after the Emirates hills. If laying by rent, Jumeirah has the highest prices. Jumeirah 2, and the area in Jumeirah 2 near Al Wasl Road is the most expensive area in Jumeirah with rents as high as AED 300,000 – AED 2,000,000.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Jumeirah Beach Hotel situated adjacent to Burj Al Arab opened in 1997 is operated by the Dubai-based hotelier Jumeirah. The hotel contains 598 rooms and suites, 19 beachfront villas, and 20 restaurants and bars. The hotel occupies a location on the beach. Visitors to the hotel have at total of 33,800 square meters of beach for their use. Beside the hotel is the Wild Wadi Water Park. All guests in the hotel have unlimited access to the water park.

Wild Wadi Water Park

The Wild Wadi Water Park is an outdoor water park situated next to the Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the water park is operated by Jumeirah International. Wild Wadi Water Park has a heated/cooled wave pool, multiple water slides and two artificial surfing machines. In addition, the park had the largest water slide outside of North America, but recently it was removed to make space for two other rides . Another feature of the park is an 18 m (59 ft) waterfall that goes off every ten minutes. The water park also has two gift shops, three restaurants and two snack stands.

Jumeirah Beach Park

Jumeirah Beach Park opened in 1989 as the first beach park in Dubai, overlooking directly the Arabian Gulf in Jumeirah residential area. Jumeirah Beach Park spans across 12 hectares of parkland with children’s play areas, picnic tables, barbecue area, volleyball play area, swimming pool and showers, food kiosks, jetty area fronting on to the beach with lifeguards on duty. It is ideal for family picnic on weekends or have a free time with kids in open air at evenings.

Jumeirah Mosque

Jumeirah Mosque is situated in the fashionable Jumeirah 1 area. It is said that Jumeirah Mosque is the most photographed mosque in all of Dubai. Jumeirah Mosque is an impressive structure that once seen is never forgotten. It is one of the few mosques in the UAE that is open to non-Muslims and most days streams of holidaymakers and residents can be seen making their way to the imposing mosque. Shops might have sprung up around it but Jumeirah Mosque remains a major Dubai landmark.

Madinat Jumeirah

Madinat Jumeirah the Arabian Resort is a luxurious 5 star resort in Dubai and is also the largest resort in the emirate, spreading across over 40 hectares of landscapes and gardens. Madinat Jumeirah is situated along 1KM of private beachfront adjacent to Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Burj Al Arab, and Wild Wadi Water Park. It is an approximate 30 minute drive from Dubai International Airport in non-peak traffic.

Madinat Jumeirah is designed to resemble a traditional Arabian town. The resort comprises two boutique hotels Al Qasr and Mina A’Salam and a courtyard of 29 summer houses called Dar Al Masyaf. The resort has exclusive Madinat Souk and also has over 40 restaurants and bars.
